Professional hearing aid manufacturer popular science December 3 is the International Day of Disabled Persons
Every year, December 3 is the international day of disabled people. It aims to promote people's understanding of disability and mobilize people's support to safeguard the dignity, rights and happiness of disabled people. From October 12 to 13, 1992, the 47th UN General Assembly held its first special session on disability since the founding of the UN. The General Assembly adopted a resolution to designate 3 December of each year as the international day of disabled persons.
There are 650 million disabled people (including deaf people) in the world, accounting for about 10% of the world's total population, 80% of which are in developing countries. Over the years, with the efforts of the international community, some progress has been made in safeguarding the rights of disabled people and building an accessible society around the world.
However, due to the environmental, social and legal barriers that cause the marginalization of the disabled, the rights of the disabled in terms of employment, education and health care are still restricted to varying degrees.
The establishment of the international day of disabled people shows that the cause of disabled people has attracted more and more attention all over the world. People of different races have begun to form a consensus that the cause of disabled people is a humanitarian cause, a cause of human progress and justice.
The celebration of the international day of disabled persons provides an opportunity for people to change their attitudes towards disabled people and remove obstacles that affect their full participation in all aspects of life.
